Privacy Policy
The short version
KWIK INC operates convenience stores and fuel stations in Arizona under the Chevron ExtraMile, Sinclair, and 76 banners. We collect only what we need to run our business, we do not sell your personal information, and we will be straightforward about what we do and do not control. This policy explains both.
01Who We Are
This policy is issued by KWIK INC (referred to throughout as "KWIK," "we," "us," or "our"), an Arizona corporation with its principal office at 2085 S Cottonwood Dr, Tempe, AZ 85282.
This policy covers information we collect through our website at kwikstations.com, at our physical retail locations across Arizona, at our fuel pumps, and through any other business interactions with us.
02Information We Collect
When you visit kwikstations.com
Our website is primarily informational. When you load a page, our web host (Cloudflare) automatically receives standard technical information that all web servers receive, including your approximate geographic region, browser type, operating system, referring page, and the pages you visit on our site. We use this only to keep the site running and to understand general traffic patterns. We do not run advertising trackers, and our site does not currently set cookies beyond what the hosting infrastructure requires.
When you email us or tap a contact link
If you send us an email (for example, to hello@kwikstations.com or through a "Contact" link on our site), we receive your email address, your message, and any information you choose to include. We use this to respond to you and, if relevant, to continue the conversation.
When you visit one of our stores or pumps
At our retail locations we collect the information necessary to complete your transaction. This typically includes:
- Payment information. When you pay with a credit or debit card, the card data is processed by our payment processors and the card networks. We do not store full card numbers. See Section 05 below.
- Video and audio. Our stores and fuel canopies are monitored by security cameras for loss prevention, safety, and insurance purposes. See Section 08.
- Purchase information. Our point-of-sale systems record what was purchased, when, and at which register or pump. For most customers this information is not linked to an identifiable individual.
- Age verification. If you purchase age-restricted products such as tobacco or alcohol, we may scan or visually verify a government-issued ID. We do not retain copies of your ID.
When you apply for a job with us
If you apply to work at KWIK, we collect the information in your application, including your name, contact details, work history, references, and any other materials you submit. Depending on the role and the stage of the process, we may also collect information from background checks, drug screens, and I-9 verification as permitted and required by law.
When you inquire about business opportunities
If you contact us about selling a property, proposing a vendor relationship, or reaching out through our Deal Desk, we collect whatever information you send us, typically your name, company, contact information, and the specifics of your proposal.
When we work with vendors, suppliers, and business partners
We collect contact and business information about the people we work with to operate our stores and supply our shelves. This is business-contact information of the type you would expect in any commercial relationship.
03Information We Do Not Control
Important: The customer loyalty programs offered at our stores, including Chevron ExtraMile rewards, Sinclair programs, and 76 rewards, are operated by the respective brand owners. KWIK is a franchisee and retailer. We do not control how those programs collect or use your personal information.
When you swipe a loyalty card, enter a phone number at a loyalty prompt, or use a brand-specific app at one of our stores, the information you provide is collected and processed by the brand owner under their privacy policy, not this one. To understand how your information is handled under those programs, please review the privacy policy of the applicable brand:
- Chevron and ExtraMile: chevrontexacorewards.com/en_us/home/mobile-app-privacy-statement.html
- Sinclair Oil: sinclairoil.com/privacy-policy
- 76 and Phillips 66: phillips66.com/privacy-statement
If a question about your loyalty-program data cannot be resolved by the brand owner and you believe KWIK may be able to help, you are welcome to contact us and we will do what we can.
04How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above for the following purposes:
- To operate and secure our stores, our pumps, and our website
- To process purchases and payments
- To respond to questions, complaints, and business inquiries
- To evaluate and process job applications and to manage our workforce
- To prevent theft, fraud, and other harm to our customers, employees, and property
- To comply with legal obligations, including tax, labor, environmental, and age-restricted-product laws
- To enforce our rights and protect ourselves in disputes or litigation
- To improve how we run the business
We do not use your personal information for advertising profiling, and we do not sell your personal information.
05Payment Card Information
All credit and debit card transactions at our stores and pumps are processed by payment processors that are certified to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). Full card numbers are not stored on our systems. For most transactions we retain only what is needed to associate a payment with a receipt, to reconcile against our bank statements, and to handle disputes or chargebacks.
If you pay by check, we may retain information necessary to deposit, clear, and (if needed) collect on that check.
06How We Share Information
We share personal information only in the following circumstances:
- With service providers who perform services on our behalf, such as payment processors, website hosts, email providers, background-check vendors, security-camera vendors, cloud storage providers, and professional advisors. These providers are bound by confidentiality and data-protection commitments.
- With brand and franchise partners where required by our franchise agreements or where a customer interaction is inherently part of a brand program (for example, rewards transactions processed through a brand-owned system).
- When required by law in response to a subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or to comply with any applicable regulation or governmental request.
- To protect people or property where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to prevent fraud, harm, or injury, or to investigate suspected illegal activity.
- In a business transaction such as a sale, merger, financing, acquisition, or bankruptcy, where personal information may transfer to a successor or affiliate. Any successor will be bound by the terms of this policy or will provide you with notice.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
07Cookies and Website Analytics
Our website does not currently run third-party analytics or advertising trackers. If we add analytics in the future (for example, to understand which pages are most useful to visitors), we will update this policy and, where required, offer a choice to opt out.
08Video Surveillance at Our Stores
We operate security cameras inside and outside our stores and under our fuel canopies. These cameras record continuously for the purposes of loss prevention, customer and employee safety, incident investigation, and insurance and legal compliance. Signs are posted where required by law.
Recordings are retained for a limited period and are overwritten automatically in the normal course of operation. Recordings may be preserved longer if they are relevant to an incident, a claim, a legal matter, or a law enforcement request.
Access to recordings is limited to authorized personnel and third parties with a legitimate need, such as law enforcement, insurers, and our legal advisors.
09Your Privacy Rights
Rights available to everyone
You may contact us to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate
- Ask us to delete information, subject to legal exceptions (for example, tax records we are required to keep)
- Ask a question or raise a concern about how we handle your information
We will verify your identity before acting on a request to prevent fraud. We will respond within a reasonable time and, where required by law, within the time limits that apply.
California residents
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) gives you additional rights, including the rights to know, delete, correct, limit the use of sensitive personal information, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. As stated above, KWIK does not sell personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If you would like to exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the address in Section 15.
California residents also have the right to not be discriminated against for exercising a privacy right.
Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, and other state residents
If you are a resident of a state with a comprehensive consumer-privacy law (including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Montana, Oregon, and others as those laws take effect), you may have rights similar to those described above. Contact us and we will respond in accordance with the law that applies to you.
10Children's Privacy
Our website is directed to a general audience and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through our website. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
11Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or as long as the law requires us to keep it. Some records, including financial records, employment records, tax records, and records related to age-restricted product sales, must be retained for specific periods by law. Other information, such as most email correspondence and routine business records, is kept for shorter periods and disposed of in the normal course of business.
12Security
We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These include access controls, employee training, background checks for employees who handle sensitive information, vendor diligence, and industry-standard encryption where appropriate. No security program is perfect, and we cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed without authorization. If an incident occurs that legally requires us to notify you, we will.
13Third-Party Websites and Services
Our website and our stores may link to or mention services operated by other companies, including brand owners, payment processors, and information sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. Please review their privacy policies before sharing information with them.
14Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version at this URL and update the "Last updated" date above. If the changes are material, we will provide more prominent notice, such as an announcement on our homepage.
